Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I keep my glasses looking like new?
A: Creating our frames is a long process that takes diligent care and effort. To preserve the beauty of the temples, clean them regularly with the buffer cloth provided and keep them looking like new. Your frames will then accompany you for many years, wherever you go.

Q: How important is the lens type I choose?
A: Lugene Opticians uses only high quality lens materials and coatings. This ensures that you purchase the thinnest and lightest lenses that provide superior optical quality and appearance. Some of the brands we use: Zeiss, Transitions Lenses®, and  Varilux.

Q: What is an "LDO"?
A: An LDO is a licensed dispensing optician who is certified by the State of Georgia. Licensed opticians prepare and dispense lenses, spectacles, eyeglasses, contact lenses and optical devices as authorized by a written prescription from an optometrist or physician skilled in diseases of the eye. Dispensing opticians can be considered for licensure after meeting specific educational or work experience requirements and examination.

The Georgia State Board of Dispensing Opticians is a six-member board appointed by the Governor to protect, promote and preserve the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Georgia. The Board is composed of five licensed, practicing dispensing opticians and one consumer member.
